Federal Courts have recognized that pro se debtors, as a group, often lack the financial resources to afford an attorney, and on their own, they will likely fail to correctly fill out bankruptcy petitions. Partially in response, the United States Congress enacted 11 U.S.C. Section 110, which expressly authorizes the services of a bankruptcy petition preparer. Specifically, a “bankruptcy petition preparer” is defined under this federal statute as a person, other than an attorney for the debtor or an employee of such attorney under the direct supervision of such attorney, who prepares for compensation, a document for filing in the United States Bankruptcy Court. 11 U.S.C. Section 110 (a) (1).

In fact, there is even a National Association of Bankruptcy Petition Preparers, of which Bankruptcy DIY is an active member in good standing. You merely take the walk-in customers through the intake process and our professionally trained petition preparers fill out the petitions. Most importantly, each customer will get the opportunity to speak to a licensed attorney before and after the petition is prepared.

With our 1040TaxStore offices, we found our partners who spent the time learning the applicable tax law and working with our Marketing Managers, early, made the most money. Quite simply, you must be prepared. That’s why we offer Bankruptcy Assistance Intake and Processing Training as part of your Bankruptcy DIY package.

Our training is second to none. Please know all are welcome to train at our DIY Corporate headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana, however, we make it very easy to do so over the Internet and telephone. We will broadcast interactive classes, on a weekly basis, over the internet reserving ten spaces at a time. You will be able to ask questions, listen to questions and answers from other students, and comment as the class proceeds.
