A Day in the Life Of... Jumping J-Jays Party Franchise |
Jumping J-Jays Franchise - Australia David & Allison - I'm a production manager for a busy sign franchise company. This is a stressful and demanding role, which consumes up to 70 hours a week for me. In an effort to boost our income, my wife and I decided to purchase a Jumping J-Jays franchise and run that business on weekends. My combined income from both my sign job and my Jumping J-Jays franchise was $60K annually.
Well, we financed everything to get on board. Since taking up the Jumping J-Jays franchise in January 2003, I have seen a constant increase in the monthly bookings. In fact, in our first year we had turnover of more than $70,000 which earned us about $38,000 for weekend work only.
Our Jumping J-Jays franchise territory has developed very nicely earning us in excess of $50K annually year in and year out. This is for weekends!!
I have now moved into the role of Operations Manager for the Jumping J-Jays group of companies. I have worked myself into the position by offering my loyalty, my dedication and best of all, love of the product.
Alison has also got very involved with the franchise, looking after the administration side of things; this only takes about 3-4 hours a week. She also supervises our corporate bookings and even sets up the occasional mid week booking if I am tied up at work.
She'll devote about 20 minutes every night logging onto the secure intranet site and download jobs that the booking office locked away for us that day and print invoices and mail.
On Saturday and Sunday, we will deliver and Install up to 6 castles in people’s back yards predominantly for birthday parties. We'll leave home around 7:30am after loading up the castles that are stored in the garage into the trailer the company supplied to us.
Typically, it takes about 20 minutes to set the castle up and train mom or dad on the safe operation and supervising of the castle. Once that is done, Allison moves onto the next one. That’s the great things about our business it is all rental!
Allison gets home around the middle of the day, spends a few hours at home with the family and then goes back out to collect the castles in the afternoon. The business is that easy and simple.
It feels good for both of us to be working on something together, which helps us to build a better future for our son. From his point of view he is the luckiest kid at his preschool as he has lots of "jumpy castles" at home. He often comments on how pleased he is that I am home in the evenings instead of stuck at work on the other side of the city.
Jumping J-Jays franchise requries a $19,000 investment plus stock. This includes every piece of equipment you need for your business - from the castles, trailer, racking for your garage, home & car signage to all repair and cleaning kits. It even includes a business phone and fax machine. There will be nothing more you need to buy or spend on equipment. We can assist with helping you get the equipment financed.
